The Photo Electric Detector shown is a  single station battery operated smoke detector. Code requires one per living level, close proximity to sleeping quarters out side the bed room. However to save lives we recommend that photo electric detectors also be placed in the bedroom of occupied bedrooms, as well as hall outside bedroom and one per living level.

These units also are available hard wired 110 and low voltage. In a fire you only have one chance to get it right. Do it before it happens
